Active Ingredients Do Not Absorb Into Skin!

Micro Layer technology (MLT™) wraps molecules of protective sunscreen chemicals in a microscopic silicate
molecule. This molecule is approx 2.5 micrometers and rests on the surface of the skin, but it does not absorb into it. These micro molecules form a solid shield of protection on top of the skin while still allowing the skin to breath. The result is a sunscreen formula where the protective chemicals do not actually touch the skin, are not carcinogenic, and do not cause irritations, while providing improved SPF coverage. (The

wrapped to increase shelf life. However, these are wrapped in an enzymatic sheath which allows the contents to be released from the physical action of rubbing the sunscreen onto your skin.)

 

Hidden Dangers Lurking in Most Sunscreens

98% of all sunscreens mostly use chemicals that are applied and absorbed directly onto your skin to act as a barrier between the sun’s radiation and your skin. Virtually all of these chemicals have been demonstrated to have some level of toxicity to the skin and body and therefore are generally not recommended for safe application on infants or on sensitive skin. They may also have a strong chemical odor and can even cause increased free radicals and oxidation damage to your skin. In fact, A class action lawsuit filed recently in Los Angeles accuses sunscreen makers of exposing millions of people to cancer and other dangers through false and misleading claims about the effectiveness of their products. All sunscreens attempt to combine a chemical block (for UVB protection) and a physical block (for UVA protection) of the sun’s harmful rays. The most common chemical block in most sunscreens is Octyl Methoxycinnamate (OMC). The most common physical block is zinc oxide. There are hidden dangers with each of these ingredients!

Solution to Prevent OMC Chemical Toxicity

The problem with OMC is that it has been found to kill skin cells and to create free radicals and accelerate skin damage, including cancer. In 2000, a researcher with the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority concluded that damage to the skin is even greater when sunlight interacts with OMC compared to OMC alone.

Sundurance solves this problem by using the patented micro-encapsulation technology. This way, you get the protection of the OMC without the potentially harmful effects because the chemical itself never actually comes in contact with your skin!

The Zinc Oxide Alternative to Skin Cancer Prevention Sunscreen

The problem with zinc oxide is that it is a natural anti-inflamatory. Normally, you would think that this was a good thing, but in a sunscreen, you don’t want a false reading! Zinc oxide prolongs the illusion that you are not burning beyond the point where damage has already occurred. This would explain the phenomenon where you might use sunscreen and stay in the sun all day with no apparent damage. Then the next day, your skin is more burned than you thought. This is because the zinc oxide in your sunscreen hid the fact that you were already burnt!

Sundurance uses pharmaceutical grade micronized titanium dioxide, which is not only a superior physical block, but it also does not have this negative side effect. However, this ingredient is more expensive to manufacture.

 

Full UVB/UVA Spectrum Coverage

SBF numbers only refer to UVB (burning ray) protection. SBF numbers do not protect you from a different part of the ultraviolet light spectrum, the UVA (tanning ray). UVA is what causes skin damage, including skin cancer, advanced aging and wrinkling. Many popular suncreens provide a high UVB protection but very little or no UVA protection.
